Five museums and emblematic places you must visit if you come to Mallorca
In World Services we want to introduce you to the culture of the island and that’s why we propose you five museums and emblematic places that you must visit if you are travelling to Mallorca:
Es Baluard: Es Baluard is a museum where you can enjoy modern and contemporary art located in the city of Palma. The museum opens from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 8pm. On Sundays it opens from 10am to 3pm. Es Baluard has more tan 600 pieces of art.
Also you can enjoy the views of the city of Palma, you can do it in the terrace, it offers an spectacular panoramic views.
The Sóller Botanic Garden: This beautiful place it is open to the public form 1992 to undertake a work of research and conservation of the flora of Balearic Islands. Sóller Botanical Garden is located in the village of Sóller and you can visit it from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday to Saturday. From March to October it is open until 6pm.
Miramar’s monastery and Son Marroig: Both of them are situated in the north of Mallorca. The monastery was founded by Ramon Llull in 1276. Later, in 1927 was created Son Marroig with the intention of preserving the figure of Archduke Luis Salvador.
La Granja of Esporles: This farm is located in the beautiful village Esporles. It is open every day form 10am to 6pm. in winter. From 10am to 7pm in summer. There you can visit also an old house converted into a museum where you can see the professions that took place in the property from X century to XVII century. In the past La Granja was greatly appreciated by the high and natural flow of the spring.
Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró: At the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró you can contemplate the work of the painter Joan Miró, he worked on the island of Mallorca from 1956 to 1983. The painter wanted the foundation to be an stimulus for future artists.
